We’ve now created five generations of the GBBC app (iOS and Android) to support Friends of the Earth’s Great British Bee Count. The app allows users to submit bee sightings allowing scientists to build a crowd sourced picture of the health of our nations bee populations.
Each generation of the count (2014, 2015, 2016 & 2017) has been a huge success, covered widely on TV and in the press.
The 2017 app was a complete redesign, improving usability and adding additional information to help users correctly identify their local bees. This in turn improves the scientific quality of the results gathered.
